Mezcaleros: Jesus & Daniel Navarro

Agaves: Verde, Chino, Cuerno, Blanco

Jesus & Daniel Navarro's ancestral clay pot stills were originally used over 400 years ago. The Navarro family has been crafting mezcal with them for at least 4 generations, if not longer, acting as one of the last artisans to preserve this age-old tradition. Each still is made up of three clay pots, the smallest one being called a "campanilla" (bell) suspended in the middle, which holds the mezcal. These small vessels can hold only 17 to 20 liters. While the yield is small, the result is unique and exquisite.
